About

Emerald Scout Group is the local part of Scouts Victoria that provides scouting in the Emerald area.  The Group meets at the Emerald Scout Centre at 21 Kilvington Drive Emerald.  The majority of youth members reside in Emerald, Clematis, Avonsleigh or Macclesfield.

Scouting is an organisation the whole family can join in and have fun together.

Scouts Australia is a multicultural, non-political and non-denominational, uniformed youth organization. Young people (boys and girls) can join at any age between 6 years and 26 years. The aim of Scouts Australia, Victorian Branch is to encourage the physical, mental, social, and spiritual development of young people so that they may take a constructive place in society as responsible citizens. This is achieved by programs which involve above all fun, and are active. Our teaching occurs using the “Scout Method” of learning by doing.

The Group comprises the following sections:

Joeys:                 Youth aged between 5 and 8 years – meet Thursdays, 6.00-7.00pm

Cubs:                  Youth aged between 7 and 11 years – meet Mondays, 7.00-8.30pm

Venturers:        Youth aged between 14 and 18 years – meet Wednesdays, from 7.30pm

Rovers:              Youth aged between 18 and 26 years – meet Thursdays, from 8.00pm

The Venturer Unit (JETS) and Rover Crew (Ogilvy) have an open membership policy and welcome youth registered with other Scout Groups.  Youth of the Joey, Cub and Scout sections are all registered members of Emerald Scout Group.

The Group is supported by Adults in various Leadership and support roles.
